Erasmus

A student exchange program can be broadly defined as a program in which high school and undergraduate students choose to study abroad at partner institutions.

An EU-funded program that supports students in education and training. It was founded in 1987. More than 4,000 universities have joined the program for more than 30 countries in Europe, including Turkey.

The program allows a student to transfer from his or her home university to another for a year or less, and the European Union has announced that the program budget will double for the period 2020/2022 which will reach 30 million euros, allowing for a larger amount of students to be accepted into the program.

Erasmus program in Turkish universities

Turkey entered the Erasmus program in 2003-2004, as Turkey is considered one of the countries that receive a large number of foreign students, in addition to the high quality of education and helps students to take advantage of educational opportunities through the student exchange program, as all Turkish universities have an office called student exchange.

All students are allowed as the program does not require a specific nationality. Only if you are studying in Turkish universities, you are entitled to apply for student exchange

The student does not pay any fees to the university, as it grants the student a travel allowance that varies from one university to another and from one country to another. The student bears only the costs of the visa and accommodation.
